The apparatus committee has selected Pierce for the new engine and E-One for the new aerial. The engine will be on the Enforcer chassis with a city style body and the aerial will be an E-One 134' Bronto.

All duty crews and most of the off-duty crews were at Headquarters for a bell ringing ceremony to remember all the lives that were lost on 09-11-01.

The department assisted the City with their fireworks display and only responded to 1 fireworks' related incident.

The apparatus committee has chosen E-One for the replacement of Aerial Tower 2, with a CR137 straight aerial being picked. E-One has a Demo CR137 that will be rolling off the line shortly and the City of Riverwoods has agreed to purchase this one as the current aerial is aging. The demo will be retrofitted slightly to accommodate the tools that Riverwoods would like to carry. Delivery is expected in November.

With the rapid growth that the City of Riverwoods has been experiencing, a seventh station has been approved and groundbreaking will commence August 15th, with an accelerated build schedule to adequately cover the city. Plans are to place a new engine and aerial in service at the new station. Funding for the station's construction will mostly come from grants.

Squad 9 has returned to service in their proper rig. A replacement is currently being sought.

A request for bids has gone out for a replacement to Aerial Tower 2. The apparatus is aging and should be replaced. The bid is for a ladder longer than 120' feet, and only a few manufacturers currently have designs that meet that specification.

Squad 9 has been taken out of service due to mechanical issues. The company will be in service, but operating out of spare and reserve apparatus until the Apparatus Committee can determine what the disposition of the current vehicle is and if there will be a replacement.

The new Tower 27 is now in service as of 0800 hours this morning!

The new Tower Ladder 27 has been delivered. The vehicle is not anticipated to be in service for another month due to equipment mounting, vehicle decaling and company training. She is beautiful and Company 27 wants to take the time to thank the Apparatus Committee for all their hard work!

The bid review has been completed and Pierce has been awarded the contract for an engine on a Saber chassis, with delivery set for the Fall of 2015.
