Companies from Riverwoods International responded to the La Lego Inn on the airport property for an automatic alarm with waterflow. While responding, dispatch reported callers reporting a fire. Battalion 9 upgraded the response to a working fire. On arrival, companies found a fire in a second floor room that was being held in check by the sprinklers. Companies lead out and fed the FDC. The fire was contained with one line. The building was evacuated to warming buses provided by the airport authority. Companies were on scene for a while after the fire was extinguished removing smoke. The airport's MVU was called in to assist with smoke removal.

Johnstown companies were dispatched to a structure fire in the 1400 block of 19th Street right at shift change. The extra staffing allowed the reserve engine and snorkel to be staffed and respond. Engine 31 arrived first and reported light smoke showing from a 1-story single-family dwelling. Further investigation revealed a stove fire with extension to the cabinets. One 1 3/4 inch line was lead out and the fire was quickly extinguished. All automatic aid from Riverwoods was returned, leaving Johnstown companies to handle.

Riverwoods companies were dispatched to a structure fire in the 800 block of North Craig. Engine 23 was first on the scene, reporting heavy fire from the first floor of a Cape Cod style home. Companies made an aggressive transitional attack and knocked the fire quickly. Searches were performed, but negative. There were no injuries on the scene.

Companies from Westbrick were dispatched to an accident at 68 North and Trebian Road. Upon arrival, Engine 4 reported 2 vehicles on top of a motorcycle with a rollover and entrapment. It was also on the Riverwoods side of the road.

On Sunday April 14th, Colonial Beach Engines 31 and 32, Ladder 31, Medic 1 and Battalion 1 along with Riverwoods Engine 52, Aerial Tower 5 and Battalion 5 were dispatched to a reported structure fire with entrapment at 1397 North Street and E. 91st Street. Upon arrival, Engine 31 reported heavy fire from the 1st floor of a 3 story townhouse with 2 people trapped on the 3rd floor. Command requested a second alarm as the fire extended up to all three floors. Due on the second alarm was Westbrick Engine 4 and Riverwoods Engine 55 (25) and Tower 51 (27), and the Westbrick Rehab. Primary and secondary searches were clear. All companies went to work and were able to confine the fire to the building of origin, despite the heavy damage.

At approximately 1500 hours while Tower 51 (27) was out of district covering Jakeland for their fire and during an overall busy day for Riverwoods and Johnstown, a General Alarm was dispatched for a structure fire at 1731 E 18th Street. Engine 57 (22) was in the area responding to a CO call when they spotted the header. Battalion 5 (2) added them to the call and sent Engine 31 to the CO.

On Tuesday, February 18th, 2014, a Lego Airlines CRJ slid off of Runway 10 Center during the tail-end of a heavy snowstorm. There were 50 souls on board. An Alert 3 was dispatched, sending all of the airport fire department crews to the scene, along with extensive mutual aid. The tower briefly lost both visual and verbal contact with the aircraft. The aircraft came to rest in one spot off the runway where the view is slightly obstructed from the ATC.
